Another wedding, another outfit

Another wedding, another opportunity for getting all dressed up!
Yesterday our friends tied the knot on a beautiful if a bit hot day in Ljubljana. The bride and groom looked lovely and very much in love.
As always, you'll have to settle for my word on this, instead a couple of pics of the outfit I decided to wear.

This was a last minute decision because I didn't have anything to pair with the dress. So the scarf and the clutch were a last minute purchase. And by last minute, I do mean last minute: while Mr. C was taking the gift to the florist's to get it gift wrapped I hopped into H&M and found both.

What do you think?

In related news: Mr. C caught the garter belt which according to tradition means we're next. Hmmm....

    1. Amy, thanks! These are my dressiest shoes reserved for weddings and fancy parties :-)
Tights are from Calcedonia, an Italian brand I positively adore: affordable, great quality and cute designs.

  2. You in your pretty dress stand out from the rest of the guests in an elegant way ( I see no leggings ; ). Boy, you were really quick in shopping a clutch and a matching scarf, which compliment your outfit!
Well, I guess You and Mr. C are obliged now to be the next couple getting married, as the tradition must go on..

    1. Mette, even I was surprised how fast I bought both and I wasn't even planning on buying the clutch. I had brought along a small bag in almost identical blush pink except the metal buckle was in silver tone and the H&M clutch has a gold buckle which worked better with my jewellery. Though I seldom buy at H&M both the bag and the scarf are well made and don't look cheap so I went for it.

    1. The dress is an old Burda pattern, I believe you once wrote on your blog it's your favourite one (you made a black dress with hand sewn crystals). I changed the scoop neckline to a V-neck though.
As for my wedding dress? I've been told it's bad luck for the bride to sew her own... hmm, will give it some thought!

    1. Ida, wearing the scarf over one shoulder is a very tactical decision: it has a very slimming effect and it makes me look taller as well.
After the formal ceremonies (civil and church wedding) I promptly changed into a more casual outfit with ballet flats.

  5. You look marvelous Ana. How did you find a scarf and clutch last-minute that almost perfectly matches your shoes?

This is my new name by the way (formerly Susan Tiner).

    1. Hello Mrs. Partlan ;-) I thought the name looked familiar!
To this day I can't believe my luck in finding the scarf and clutch, it all came together so perfectly.

Read today you closed down your fashion blog. Sigh. I'll miss it. But I am looking forward to your academic blog, definitely looks exciting. And also congrats!!! on getting into the programme. Lots of long nights ahead of you.
