It's been a crappy weekend. Yesterday in the afternoon our heater stopped working.
No plumbers to call and no hot water.
It's three in the afternoon, the apartment is a mess and Mr. C was finally able to fix the problem.
I did the only thing I could do: I made some tea and blogged about it.
First snow of the year here and my heating went off too. My husband is not good at fixing things, so my friends husband called round and he fixed it!
ReplyDeleteI would be interested to know what is on the spoon. Looks like a rose head mixed in there... I am intrigued!
I hope you have warmed up now you have heat back on :)
I checked the label and the tea contains pieces of apples and pears, dried rose buds, chamomile, blackberry leaves and calendula.
DeleteThe heater is working now and I took a shower a few hours ago, feeling so much better :-)
And just of water heater went, the central heating works separately as part of our apartment building system. If that went, phew, I'd be needing much more than just tea ;-P
Typical how these things happen at weekends...when no one is available
ReplyDeleteexcept at double the prices!! Thank goodness that Mr C rode to the
rescue.
Is that a rose tea? Ida
Mr. C sad the same thing, particularly because he had the week off work last week and had all the time in the world...but the heater went just a few hours before a few friends arrived for a casual evening gathering.
DeleteThey were very understanding :-)
Maybe potpourri..... everything gone to pot!!
ReplyDeleteJust a thought!! Ida
A good cup of tea will make most things bearable, at least! Here's a tea shop you would like: http://www.etsy.com/shop/treehouseherbs. Found her on etsy, now I just need to decide on a flavor!
ReplyDeleteanother Etsy shop to drool over ;-)
Deleteover the past couple of years I've become a big fan of chamomile tea with honey. Really helps to soothe me when I'm nervous.
awww Anna, the tea sounds great! Hope things are better and warmer now!
ReplyDeleteMandy, thanks :-D
DeleteAll is fine; we've got hot water and I'm sipping some more tea.
Your spoonful of tealeaves is so pretty, and I bet it has a great scent too.
ReplyDeleteCold apartments, I am living in one ; ). Well, today is ok, the weather is only -6° now, but yesterday, -32°, and the electricity went off during the night for 4 hours, so it was COOL in the morning. Brrrrr. I have a very strong dislike for winters, and it is turning stronger from year to year.
Mette, I agree and so does Rufus ;-) we hate cold!
ReplyDeletethe tea smell like a summer garden, absolute aromatherapy... I just close my eyes and pretend it's warm and sunny outside.
Ahh...I too find those problems to be most annoying. I am happy that it is behind you and drinking tea really was the best solution. xx
ReplyDeletethanks...it was a good thing it happened in a way. I have a newfound appreciation for the things we take for granted, again! everytime something like this happens, it reminds me just how dependent we are on certain things we don't really think about like electricity, internet, running water...
DeleteThat tea looks so exotic! I'm sorry for the plumbing issues. I know all about the reality check that is Stuff Doesn't Work -- glad you're back to normal.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi! Yes the tea comes from a teahouse specializing in loose leaf tea and fine bone china. Very old world and very chic ;-)
DeleteOh dear, well, I'm glad to hear this is resolved, but sorry to hear you had to go so long without hot water!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan :-)
