Happiness comes in a box: Bag hooks

We all know them: the little trinkets that cost next to nothing but they make us incredibly happy. Whether it's because they fulfill a certain purpose in our household or are there simply for their intrinsic beauty.

Bag hooks. Plural.
bag hooks

I bought these several months ago at my favourite store after my original bag hook broke. The plan was to get one but at less than 4 € a piece it made sense to get at least three, one for each of the bags I use on a regular basis.

Do you use bag hooks?

  1. Yes to bag hooks! I find myself in situations where the purse ends up in uncomfortable positions such as on my lap or between my back and the backrest of the chair/bench.

I should get myself one of those.

    Where to look?

  2. Had never heard of a bag hook until Mette mentioned them....remember I live out in the
sticks!!! Have never seen anyone use them...in London some of the hotels provide a small
stool for designer bags.A friend gave me a gold one for Christmas must try it out. Ida

  3. They are brilliant things, but I always forget to take them with me so I think your solution of one for each bag is an idea to steal!

    1. having several bags is always tricky, because you have to move things from one to another. I always forget something like chap stick or paper tissues and then I "steal" from Mr. C who's only got one bag :-)

  4. Ever since I changed my purse to a shoulder bag, I stopped using it. But, when I was using it, I loved it and thought it was the most ingenious invention! xoxo, Amy

    1. this are used to hang your bag in a public place like a coffee shop. The round colourful thing has a non slip mat on the bottom and you place it flat on a surface like a table or a bar and just hook the bag straps on.
very useful since you don't have to hold the bag in your lap.

  6. I have only one, golden. Mine is perhaps the original type, shipped from New York to Finland, years ago, when these came popular.
One is perfect for me, since having only one, I take better care of it. Had I doubles, I´d be careless.
    Your´s are very nice looking!

  7. My previous one had a floral design in the center and I wore it round for years too. Unfortunately the glass cover became loose and fell out and the metal tarnished because it wasn't stainless steel :-(
    I'm hoping these last longer...

  8. I like these a lot Ana...so sleek. I don't use bag hooks because my bags are so heavy and worn anyhow. I usually place my bag on a chair or hang it on my chair. These are very nice. xx

    1. :-D I place my bag on an extra chair if that's possible too, but these are useful for tiny bars with stools or the library.

    1. Vanessa, they can hold very heavy bags. I've tried it! the non slip mat is great and will stick to any surface.

  10. Well this is all news to me. I have never heard of bag hooks (like Ida, I live out in the sticks!) and clearly missed Mette mentioning she had one too. My friend had her bag stolen when it was on the floor next to her chair, so I presume they are a good deterrent for thieves too.

    1. yes, bag thieves are ruthless. Luckily I haven't had anything stolen yet, but I'd never leave my bag hanging out of sight
