but I can control my attitude! And though this weather as witnessed throught the window of our car this morning is dismal I'm making an effort to stay cheerful. Even if it's just putting on my super bright, almost neon yellow tights.
What's your trick to stay upbeat?
Some of our villages are still cut off and without electricity, just back from towing a neighbour's car out of a ditch thought the rope would break it was difficult even with my 4x4,temp -3 the sun is trying to peek out from behind the clouds, maybe a 'silver lining' is coming our way!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Ana,your tights must bring a smile to lighten the gloom.
What we cannot control, accept with as much grace as we can...not easy.....Mette is the one to really ask,she lives with this weather.Ida/Judith
Well, here I am.
DeleteI must admit, that looking at the snowy picture really makes me too miserable. Luckily you have your bright tights!!
I have suddenly created an addiction towards oranges. Can´t get enough of them. I have also taken day naps. I´m all beaten by the length of this winter.
Magically we have had sunny days, but the nights are cold, so snow stays.
So, my tips: Oranges and napping.
wow, how horrible to be without electricity! as for cars and roads, it was a bit uncomfortable for me too, since Mr. C was on his way to Germany for a seminar and I'm always worried when he drives in this crazy weather especially since the accident.
DeleteI hope the electricity is restored in your parts of the country and you are safe and warm at home. I also noticed you've changed your ID to Judith :-)
Mette, oranges and napping sound great. For me it's mangoes and sewing spring/summer clothing items! I think we're all weary and tired of this winter: let spring come :-D
DeleteLady, we are on the same page. Bright, happy tights always lighten my mood too. My current favorite are also my yellow ones! In fact, i just bought another pair of the yellow ones since I love them so much! Ha! Glad to see I'm not the only one.
ReplyDelete:-))) It's taken me forever to find an adult size bright yellow tights. It's like for some reason retailers think yellow isn't for grownups or something. They had all this fancy colours like mustard and rust and burnt sienna etc.
DeleteGood for you Ana, expressing your inner sunshine with yellow tights!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm thinking of taking a cue from Mette and get a pair of orange tights! It's still snowing outside and rumours have it we're expecting more next week :-((( so brigt tights and winter boots for me instead of raincoats and ballet flats
DeleteAgree that the cold is so depressing - your tights are so joyous and bright! I love to buy a bright coloured bunch of flowers to cheer me - I bought some hot pink roses today - usually I just go for white flowers but these seemed so happy... oh, and I loved your posts on Vienna. X
ReplyDeleteSarah thanks, I'm glad my posts on Vienna were interesting. It was a lot of fun for me to write themsince it brought back so many wonderful memories. I agree about flowers, they make a place feel happier :-) At the moment I'm very fond of miniature roses in bright pink or blood orange.
DeleteThis has been the winter we'd all like to forget. We were tempted with some warm days and blooming flowers but now it's bitter again (for us) - mid 20s F. tonight and we had snow flurries today. I try not to let it depress me, and I think I have to go find some yellow tights, as the yellow daffodils have now withered in the cold. I find I've been taking mid-afternoon naps as well!!
ReplyDeleteLove love love your yellow tights!!! I agree, bright colors make me happy too when the weather is a bit gloomy. I studied in the Netherlands for a year (back in the '80's - ha! I'm getting old) and developed an affinity for neon colored yellows, oranges, and greens. Good thing I live in Southern California now - I don't know what my kids would make of me wearing those colors now :)
